“Mi, Chiamano Mimì” from La Bohème →
Blythe sings the Act 1 soprano aria from Puccini’s La Bohème.
This is a live performance from my time as Mimì at Opera in the Ozarks. I first did the role at FSU, where I completely fell in love with Mimì as a character; she’s sweet, smart, warm, and feisty. This is one of those roles that I could never get tired of acting and singing. That act IV finale! One of the compliments I received was- “ you die REALLY well.” Haha!
← “Tu Che Di Gel Sei Cinta” from Turandot
Blythe sings the Act 3 soprano aria from Puccini’s Turandot.
I guess you could say I’m a Puccini soprano! Don’t tell Verdi or Mozart… This video is so special because my husband, Brandon, is accompanying me. We recorded this video a couple days after a tree fell on our house in Tallahassee, it was such a hectic time but our escape was music and performing with each other. The text is so moving in this aria, especially at the repeat of “ei vinca ancora…” or “he will be victorious..”
